Well, despite all these sarcastic answers, there are people who don't have to use a K at the end of magic to know what you're asking for, and some of us don't bother using a different spelling, as we don't need to distinguish between ceremonial and slight-of-hand.. we know what we're talking about.

Most people who practice that art use it as a spiritual practice. You might want to look at that before deciding you want to learn.

I agree with Starrwoode and Joa5. Magic and Magick are two different things. However, Kallan K gave you great links you can go to learn about Magick. Since I am Wiccan, I visit those sites very often.

However, I must disagree with Kallan K in one thing. The question doesn't allow to know whether the asker is interested in slight of hand magic, or about magick as practiced by Wiccans and other pagan religions.

Therefore, Starrwoode and Joa5 were correct in asking Jess (the asker) which type of magic was of her interest.

Do you want to learn magic - slight of hand, or magick - the use of natural energies within ourselves and the world around us to effect a physical change in a condition or life situation. It's spelled with a "k" to differentiate it from stage magic.

If you want to learn magick, I suggest you first read Scott Cunnigham's book "The Truth about Witchcraft Today". It's both a cheap book and a simple read. It'll give the basics of magick, and it will also dispel any misconceptions you may have about magick.

If you want to learn about slight of hand, I'm sure there's a section on it at your local book store or library.
