First, acne is relevent to age. Teenage years, obviously, withhold the days of looking self-conscious. If you are a bit older, then daily wash usually helps.
If a dermatalogist has recommended a product, you should use it. For a topical acne washing treatment, ProActive really works.
It works just like daily cleansing, and only takes about 3 minutes in the morning and three minutes at night. It's really easy and you start to see results in about 4 days, but drastic results in about a week and a half.
If you have already tried this, go (back) to the dermatalogist and ask for the most practical form of acne medicine they have.
I am 15, and i started to have acne around 11-ish. I tried a ton of products but they all didn't work. One, however, did, but is now off the market. I used ProActive and then it really cleared up. Now, I get a blemish every now and then, but it's no big deal.
You can also apply it to the neck and shoulders if you have problem acne around there, as well.
Good luck!
Hope you haven't used it before!
(some people say that it was too harsh for their skin, so this is definitely a trial if you have sensitive skin)

Do not attempt to treat the type of acne you described on your own with home remedies and over the counter medicines. You need to go to another doctor, a dermatologist, who specializes in acne, at your local hospital clinic or private office.
Dermatologists are licensed to prescribe prescription medicine, including but not limited to antibiotics, so that when your pimples end you will not be permanently scarred for life.

Drink a lot water early in the morning will replemish & freshen your skin & eat alot veggie. Don't eat too much oily, greasy foods like burger or any other fast-food. Eat tofu, soy bean also help as well. Make this into a habit, then I will guarantee you, your skin will clear up or at least show some improvement in 3 months. It works for me, it should work for you as well.
