the warmer weather, warm air can hold more humidity and therefore warp or swell the door more. Also you would tend to have the heat on more in cold weather and heat, be it forced hot air or hydrosonic (baseboard hot water) heat will tend to dry out the air.

you didn't say where you live or whether the door opens to the outside.
It will swell with summer humidity. In the winter if the door opens to the outside it can swell because of outside moisture (snow, freezing rain, sleet) and inside dry air (from heat). You can solve the problem by sealing the edges of the door when it is closing properly with either paint or a clear sealant (such as polyurethane).
The frame may also swell for the same reasons as above, but if the door is at ground level, in the winter you can get what is called a frost heave. When water freezes it expands. This can cause the frame to rise causing the door to stick. you'll need to stop moisture from getting under the door frame if this is the case.

Generally this problem occures with wood doors during the summer when there is humidity in the air. The issue is that moisture gets inside the wood door causing the wood to expand, which is just enough to cause the door to stick.

in hot weather the doors if wood seem to swell up because of the heat will expand wood and cold weather the swelling goes down if you have a door that opens hard in cold weather you need to have it adjusted to fit proper.

The answer is YES. Now, seriously though, it can expand in either season depending on the reason. It can be humidity or a foundation or settling issue.

if it is a wood door, the humidity makes it expand and it will stick.
I have never noticed anything in cold weather.
