I think a person should be president who is qualified, not because of his race, but I (no offense) don't think a black man running for president would live long enough to make it to the White House.

If he is qualified I couldn't care what color he is. Collin Powell has said he isn't running because he doesn't want to subject his family t the scrutiny during the process. However electing a person just on race sounds like a dumb idea. Look at what has happened in Clayton and DeKalb counties in Georgia. They vote for any black candidates(majority black counties) and they have done nothing but drag down the counties.

If he's the right person for the job, I'd take anyone of any color! I do think Colin Powell has alot to offer, but someone like Jesse Jackson, I'm sorry NO. We need fair, honest oh you all know the rhetoric......a person of qualities for strong leadership. A woman? Maybe someday, maybe yet in my lifetime, who knows? I'm a woman, 45, and would like to see this before I die. But Hilary Clinton? I think not. Even though I tend to sway Democratic.

Brother, you have a brain, USE IT! Leadership should never be determined by race, but by qualifications and such eligibilities. Ignorance flourishes amongst those that do not try to liberate themselves. Its not a shot at you, but at first I am amused, then sickened that people still think this way.

Of course.........There should be a woman too along with all other races that aren't white. I believe in the same for Canada and other countries in the world.
