I have heard a good scare will cure hiccups.

Are you my real father?

If so, you owe a lot of back child support.

Scared?

Have a teaspoon of vinegar. Vinegar is acetic acid and it suppresses the spasm of the diaphragm which is the cause of hiccups. The common solution is to dissolve a teaspoon of sugar on the tongue slowly. Sugar is converted into acid within 10-20mins. It works but the vinegar( any type) works within seconds. Prolonged bouts of hiccups should be medically examined to rule out any underlying conditions.

it's unnatural to have a hiccup for a full hour. Go to a doctor. If you're exaggerating, then hold your breath for 30 seconds.

I take a real deep breath and then force a few more mouthfuls of air into my lungs. That makes it so you can't hiccup. I hold it as long as I can then let it out quickly and do it a few more times. That takes care of it.
