Greetings from Malaysia.
The floods are most serious in the state of Johor, the southern part of Malaysia. Some towns are completely cut off. However, in the Central part where Genting is, there are no serious flooding. Driving to Genting is okay but you may want to consider taking the cable car halfway up instead of driving all the way up. It is much safer. Have a good trip.

first for 'juan m', most Malaysian still live in the 'jungle' [ concret type ] but are using laptop, so what ? btw how do you know that we stay in the jungle since yourself is also a cave man with 'jungle' knowledge about Malaysia !

as for kacheek, you didn't mentioned where you do starts your journey from, anyway there is NO flood in Selangor [ n partially Pahang ] where Genting is situated, so please feels free to visits Genting any times, if possible week day as there would crowded during weekend n Sunday. Don't miss the cable car ride n do stay over night to experience the 'chill' of fresh mountain's air !

i guessed you are from Singapore or southern Malaysia, if so then do check-out the latest news of flood in Johor before you head toward north, the NS highway should be flood-free though. Even if you are from the northern states, there shouldn't be any problem for you to drive down south to Selangor.

have a nice holidays !!!

As of last night.
the flood situation is getting worst at south part of malaysia (Johor). However, u said u will be driving to Genting.
I dont think using the highway will effect your journey to genting.
I dont hear any flooding on the way using the highway.

so go ahead an enjoy yourself in Genting.
my advise is try to check the wether forcast in Kuala Lumpur/ Genting. u might be stuck inside the hotel if its raining in genting.

the road condition is good here, if u come from south, u can exit to cheras MRR2 after the Sg. besi toll . then follow the sign board to genting highland. In between u will pass by cheras (pandan indah), ampang, setapak (zoo). all the way staright, until u see taman melati. then after Pro-jet Petrol station and shell petrol station, turn left. that's the road to genting highland. drive safely. good luck

Shouldn't be problem if you are heading north from Singapore using the expressway. Small portion of the North-South highway may be flood, but still passable to vehicles. Just drive with care if rain.

yes, malaysians are stil living in the jungle. i'm now typing this answer on my tree house, near an elevator. now is Sunday, 14-Jan-07, 21:45

unlike juan m, most of them are very educated. they also learned world geography. They do not have stupid people like juan m who are very stupid he don't even know how stupid he is.

-edit-
Repairman, no point advising him to live in the jungle because the monkeys here are very clever and intelligent, I strongly believe the monkeys won't accept a brainless person like juan m as a member of the pack.
