Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors are basic hack and slash games that anyone can pick up and play. They are button mashers. I like them, but some people won't.
Champions of Norrath and the sequel Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms are based on the Everquest realms. It's an action RPG so you have to level up and pick up different equipment and stuff while following a story line.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance I and II. Same as Champions of Norrath, but different story and characters.
There was Cookies and Cream, but it's kinda old and hard to find. In two-player mode, it's split screen and you have to help each other because it's got puzzles mixed in. If you play one-player, you have to switch between them to beat the levels.
Can't really think of anything else right now. But I played all of these and they were all fun for me. Buy them from a GameStop affiliated store (used games: if you don't like them, return them within 7 days with the receipt) or rent them if you can. I'll let you know if I think of anything else.
