Garret Atkins or Lance Berkman inthe NL
Joe Mauer or Ichiro in the AL

Well some of the contenders are Michael Young, he's a terrific young hitter, getting 200 hits 4 years in a row, he also has hit .300 in that span. Albert Pujols as always, his career average is at .332. Then there's Ichiro, one of the best hitters I believe that ever lived, he may be only in his seventh year, but he was great in Japan too. The reigning champ Mauer is a contender since he's been a good hitter since he came up.

I don't know much about the AL so I can't respond about that. A couple names in the NL that come to mind as longshots, but still possibilities are Lance Berkman and Luke Scott of Houston. Scott was awesome last year in very few atbats. He has a nice swing. He get a lot of doubles. He's a lefty. Berkman is just a good hitter.
