Go to http://www.seattlegasprices.com/ and look up the average price of gas per gallon. A US gallon is almost dead-on 3.78 litre. At today's average price of $2.45 US per gallon, that would make it just over 65 US cents per litre. The most efficiet gas is whatever is recommended for your vehicle, which is usually regular. Read your manual for the answer. If it says regular, do not buy midgrade unless your engine is pinging a little. In a million miles and 40 years I have only had one car that actually needed mid-grade, and that was a 58 Chevy 6 cylinder that I had milled the cylinder heads down on. With mid-grade, you felt no difference in the city, but on the highway took off like a v-8, and was very smooth at highway cruising speed. On regular, it ran like crap because of the higher compression ration. The amount of gas to start a vehicle would depend on how long your vehicle sat, whether it was in a garage or outside with the wind howling through the grill, how good your battery is, how in tune the car is, whether the battery terminals are clean or corroded, whether the block heater was plugged in and working, etc.

3.785 litre per gallon,, gas has been hovering around 2.40 a gallon,, that's about 63.4c a litre.
The lowest octane gas,, 87 is the most fuel efficient by a slight margin, diesel is a good deal more fuel efficient. hope that answers your questions.
not much gas on start up. an ounce at most.
