there are many ways to do this, I would suggest getting a router with a 4 port switch to hook up as many as 4 computers via cable and if you get one thats wireless also, you could theoretically hook up about 253 computers to it. This will only work if you have a broadband cable or dsl connection, otherwise you can do it but sharing a dialup connection is more difficult and a waste 0of time as you'd be sharing an already slow connection and rendering it more useless with the amount of computers you hook up to it

u have many options first is buy a switch if u have more than 2 comps ,if u have only 2 comps then an ethernet crossover cable will do the job or u can buy wireless adapters one for each pc and connect them
whichever method u use u have to make a comp the server and share the connection by making use of some proxy server

Using a network hub or a gateway you can connect many pc's to the net.
