I love these types of questions.
"Valentine's Day means a lot to me, because it's all romantic and mushy and blah blah blah and I want to do something sweet for someone who doesn't want anything sweet done for them. What should I do?"
I'm going to give you an essential truth of life, and you can either believe me or not. When a woman says she doesn't want something, half the time, she really does, and she's testing the guy to see if he "understands her" and "cares enough".
Men aren't like that.
Men will tell you what they want, and when they say they don't want something, they actually mean they don't want it. The only reason men give women anything on Valentine's Day is so that we don't lose those women to guys that watch Oprah and sing show tunes in the shower, and because it increases our chances of getting sex later that night. If it's a really good gift or special occasion, we might get a whole week worth of sex out of it.
We men are a strange bunch, I know.
If you want to do something really special for your boyfriend for Valentine's Day, then just appreciate what he does for you on Valentine's Day. Set aside a day to do something he really enjoys, and then go and give him the best day you can.

You should get him a stuffed animal that dances and sings.
They don't all sing mushy romantic songs there are so many different kinds. I went to the store with my two year old the other day and we listened to each one there was a whole aisle of them.
I can't remember what songs they were singing but I think your boyfriend would like the lion or frog in there underwear singing and dancing, or the two monkeys on a motorcycle. The guy monkey was in the front and the girl monkey was on the back.
Or you can just get him a sweet card and go out to dinner.

Give him a gift on Abe Lincolns birthday instead. It is 2 days before on the 12th of Feb, this way you can respect his wishes not to celebrate V day and yours to do something special. Give him something non-heartsy like a cd of songs the two of you like or a t-shirt. You could also get tickets to a comedy club. My friend once got her ex a box of chocolate brains instead of hearts which was very funny but he loved it as he too hated V day (they come in different types of candy if he doesn't like chocolate).Good luck!

DO something nice for yourself on Valentines day, that way you get the gift of giving too. Seriously, don't force a holiday on someone, but don't not celebrate it yourself for someone else. Do something nice for youself,

How are you going to react when he does nothing for you? I feel like every day should be valentines day. Why do we need one special day for another person in our life to let us know they love us? It's wonderful to hear and feel more than once a year.

How about baking him cookies or tarts. I bake cookies for my co-workers for all time, and that i continuously confirm my weigh down is conscious that I made them...that way he includes my table and chats me up. in case you want a cookie recipe, contact me, I actually have a good one! i does not get him something gentle or cutsey. possibly ask him to work out a movie or bypass out with a set of your individuals so he can get to attraction to close you larger.
