Do you think it is a bit over the top to have a dj at a party? I am 14 and I am having a birthday party soon. I go to a small private school. I don't want to make it seem like I am bragging that I can easily afford having a dj at a party.

I want a dj at my party because it is like what my party is about. If I didn't have a dj, I would probably just have a cruddy party. It would just be music and food. With a dj, I can have people come up to him and suggest music and songs to play.

Hardly anyone has parties, so if I have a 14th bday party with a dj... would that be bragging?

I need answers from people around my age (no offense) just because I would want to know what they would think if I had a dj at my party.

First of all to the person who said my parents shouldn't allow me to have a dj... my mother was the one who suggested it.

Oh and just so people know... I am inviting 30 people. (keep in mind that probably not everyone will come)

Why do people keep mentioning "my super sweet sixteen"?!!?!!
It is a stupid show and all of those people are spoiled biotches.
Having a dj has nothing to do with that show.

Do you think it is emberassing to have a dj? I mean, at my age, everyone thinks everything is stupid. lame, and boring. I just don't want people going back to school saying hoe I tried to impress everyone because I have a dj and that no one else would.

i think having a dj would b a bit much. just make a playlist on your ipod or on your laptop or make a mix cd if you dont have either. if you want ppl to be able to choose music, have your ipod out, your laptop out, or your cd collection so they can browse them

If it is a small party where there wont be alot of people that I think a DJ would be a little too much for a 14th birthday party....If it was a big birthday like 16 or 18 then I'd say yes.... Im 18

No, there's nothing wrong with having a dj at a party, they simply take care of the music, so you don't have to.

I'm not your age - I'm quite a bit older - but I am a DJ, and I specialize in weddings, school discos, etc. Go for it! Hire a DJ! Provided you meet with him/her beforehand, and let them know what type of music you want, you should have a great time.
(I'm not trying to promote myself here - I live in Australia!) Good luck!

Your 14.... And you want a DJ? If I was your parent, I wouldn't let you. You should really stop watching "My super sweet 16"

I think that'd be cool. That's not bragging. If others are jealous, f-ck them.... That's tight.
