You have to import your songs from Windows media player and convert them into the ipod format. I did this not long ago, and trust me, it was a huge pain in the ****!

I suggest you open up itunes, then upload the songs straight from the CD, that way you don't have to deal with the headache. Other wise you'll have to do ONE BY ONE.... seriously.

All you need to do is open iTunes, click "Advanced" and then select "Consolidate Library," and iTunes automatically import compatible files into the iTunes library.

However, if you have all your music in .wma format... ugh... that's Windows proprietary format and it is incompatible with iTunes. You can convert them, but to my knowledge, there isn't any free software that will do that. Look here: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060917040944927
That tells you how to do it. You need Quicktime Pro (not Quicktime, which is free) which costs like $35.

If you got your music from a CD, just put the CD in and let iTunes rip new tracks for you.
