hi, I have finally conceived after several long years. This was confirmed by doctor yesterday, but it is only 2 weeks old. I was thrilled, but just a few hours ago, I found some slight browish discharge at my undergarment. This brown stain was not there this morning, which was 7 hours ago. The discharge is not much, but enough to stain my undergarment clearly. Is this normal or shall I consult my doctor immediately? This brown discharge got me really worried that the foetus is not stable yet. Please help. Thank you so much.

It is normal to have some small spotting in the begining during implantation. Also, that fact that it was brown and not red is a good sign. Even if the spotting turn to red don't panic some people have that too and still give birth to health babies in the end. If you are very concerned you can talk to your doctor about getting a HCG Quantitative. This is a pregnancy test that measures your hormone levels. They do this 1st to check what your level is and then recheck it a few days later. If all is well the # will be raising as the pregnancy progresses if it is a failing pregnancy the # will start to drop.
If your body spontaniously aborts the pregnancy it is because it wasn't forming properly and your body knows best at this point.
My best friend spots with every pregnancy and she has wonderfully healthy babies.
It isn't in our hand so all we can do is pray.
Good luck and God Bless

The foetus is not stable yet. I am 7 months pregnant now with my second child and I had some spotting at the beginning of my pregnancy about the second week. I was scared it was a miscarriage. A few people (who have never been pregnant before) told me that spotting during pregnancy is normal, but my gynaecologist asks me at every visit if I've had any bleeding. It is a concern. If the discharge stops it could possibly mean that your body doesn't realize it's pregnant yet, and that is normal. If it doesn't stop it could be something serious and I would recommend seeing a doctor soon.

That's brown blood (old blood). If you're going to have blood, it's the best to have. Red is more worrisome. Although bleeding is not considered "normal", it happens to a lot of women, especially in the first trimester. It happened to me on and off for a month (though very light). It can also happen after sex. My doc told me to try not to worry, as terrible as it sounds, they can't always tell why women bleed in pregnancy. If a miscarriage is going to happen, it's going to happen and the docs can't stop it. You only need to be concerned if you start bleeding heavily with a lot of cramping, otherwise try to relax. My bleeding stopped a long time ago and I'm now 25 weeks.

hi, as long as the discharge isn't bright red you should be fine. if you get any pain or discomfort i'd consult your doctor. the discharge may have been spotting from when your baby was implanting itself into the lining of your womb. this quite often happens, if this is the case your fine but if you are still concerned anyway, just give your doctor or ante natal care giver a call, they will help lay you worries to rest. and congratulations on the baby.

dont worry i bled for the first 3 months of my second pregnancy so i didnt even know i was pregnant. you are experiencing what seems to be a healthy pregnancy. if you are still worried , and are still discharging it may sound strange but take a sample of the blood to the doctor to put your self at rest. im sure that you will be fine. and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

I had the same thing. In fact until the 8th week of pregnancy I felt cramps like I was about to start my period. I literally checked every 10 minutes for 2 weeks. It was fine. I would however go visit your doctor she can do blood tests to determine if you are miscarrying or not.

You should probably call your Dr. just to be on the safe side, but don't worry too much. Some spotting is normal during the first trimester. The rule is that brown or pink is OK, but red is bad.

its just old blood being pushed from your cervix as your cervix is closing and changing positions. as long as its brown maybe even a slight pink but if you have any bright red even if its just a spot got to the er or dr and get checked. or if you have any heavy period like cramping go get checked. i have been pregnant 4 times 1 misscarrage and 2 live births and am expecting my 3rd baby in 3 weeks,
