Um, don't know how to say this but...
they're getting mad because YOU'RE looking at them. They want to, in an evolutionary sense, attract the attention of the alpha male so as to get the best reproductive material. If an alpha male came in and looked at the woman in the exact same way as you did, they'd be thrilled. It's about who does the looking...just watch a Nature special on mating habits of just about any species and pay attention to how the female treats the lower ranking males.
In closing, it's not that they don't want attention, just from the "right" person...and don't feel bad, except for Brad Pitt, we've all been in that position....

Not at all! ;) I love dressing up and if some of the stats mentioned in this question are true* than there are plenty of men who crossdress! What makes crossdressing seem 'wrong' is the fact that it's not 'accepted as the norm' in society. But if the next male fashion trend was to be skirts and tights and dresses and leggings and high heels etc. than there would no doubt be plenty of men who would immediately change their style to suit! ..and no-one would consider it 'wrong'. *not saying the stats mentioned are not true as such, but reliability of stats on a website like this is not great. But it's a fact that there are plenty of men all round the world who enjoy crossdressing.

Actually women generally relish attention- thus they giggle out loud in public, wear bright make-up, dye their hair bright colors, wear shiny or catchy-phrased shirts. Its a girl thing, u know. They never get mad at all- who doesn't enjoy being admired? They may get upset at some remarks you make at them- but they still enjoy the attention. I know women well enough to know these things. Everyone wants attention yeah, just on different levels.

I honestly think the type of women that wear clothing like that and react like that actually want just a specific type of man to look at them in that way. They are very shallow and are repulsed if you do not fit their "type".

well, some of us do it just to wear it. to be daring. but some of us want to be looked at. actually, i've noticed that a lot of my friends that dress like this tend to be more insecure about the way they look.

well, watch sometime when you are at a club or bar and a woman walks in. she doesnt check out the guys. she checks out her competition. she dresses to be sexier than they are.

It is a projection of their disgust at themselves- they feel disgusted at themselves, so they dress provocatively, and when you "discover" it, they are embarrassed, and call YOU disgusting.
