imho, the best software use for animation for me is still
MACROMEDIA FLASH MX, FLASH 8 Professional. The instant version of Flash is SWISH, every instant effects are available in swish. the difference with FLASH is, You can make the most difficult/complex animation with FLASH, and u can arrange the animation with ur own style.
Flash is used to build 2d Animation,
whereas for the 3d Animation, 3D STUDIO MAX, i think is also one of the best. There are many plug-ins are build for this 3d studio max.
If u mean to make film animation, i suggest u to use Adobe Premiere Pro.

i dont imagine theres any undemanding classes like that, you should apply something like maya or 3ds max. the nearest you are able to come to that is utilising one in all those classes and drawing/connecting curves, yet that still calls for skills, you cant in simple terms draw something and change it into 3D, as far as i recognize, and in case you should then it wouldnt be good high quality. there are underlying structures that make the fashions movable, so i ought to assert regardless of in case you are able to make something "less costly and common", it wouldnt be able to animate nicely.

I'm not sure what "icone" is.
RenderMan for Maya is what I would say for 3D. It's developed and sold by Pixar.
