It doesn't matter what degree you get, so long as you have the required prerequisites and meet their criteria for GPA, etc. That goes for any graduate program, from MBA to Med School.

My b/f has a BA in Public Administration and he got his M.Ed a year later. He has a great career now.

You could definitely do an MBA. Just make sure you do well on the GMAT and find out what kind of deficiency courses you may need to take before you are admitted to the school you want to go to.

"a job" ... Can you be more specific what you are looking for? While waiting for a response note that the key to finding work generally depends far less on **what** degree you than on the fact that you actually have completed the degree. Companies see the completion of a degree as proof that you were able to focus and self-discipline as well as learn. Obviously there are some jobs that require specific degrees as minimal competency (these are usually "profesional" jobs like doctor, lawyer, etc) but many companies are willing to hire & train even high-school dropouts *IF* the person shows relevant experience from life or measurable potential (certificates, projects, etc). A far greater question you ought to be asking yourself is "What do I want to do for my career?" because when you are interviewing employers would rather hire someone who likes the work over someone who just wants a paycheck.
