i have to say absolutely take her. im 16, and totally love mcr, so im a bit biased ;) but i went to my first mcr concert in november, and it was amazing.
a couple of things to say - first off, there are a lot of people on here ^ saying, "no dont take her theyr rubbish" etc etc but thats not the issue here, we already know ur goddaughter likes them, so wats the point in badmouthing mcr? personally i have to agree with the person above me, congratulate ur goddaughter on her excellent taste in music!
second, as far as im aware (and without sounding like an idiot, i think im right, because i know quite a lot about the band, from interviews etc) there has never been sex/nudity in any form in their shows. theyrs quite a lot of interaction with the crowd, most from frontman gerard, and yeh they swear in some of it, but to be honest i dont think its anything worse than the lyrics in their songs. their current album 'the black parade' isnt the kind of record that would involve a show with sex/nudity anyway, and mcr isnt that kind of band.
a persons first mcr concert is a totaly unforgettable experience. if you dont like mcr, you wont understand it obviously, but from the sounds of it your goddaughter is, and very lucky to have such a supportive godmother!
i really hope you take your goddaughter, and you both thoroughly enjoy it.
by the way, if you want to know anything else, just send me a email, id be more than happy to help any way i can.
in case these are helpful, theres a couple of reviews of their recent shows which might be useful below.

I would say yes. My Chemical Romance, yea they say some bad words every now and again, but their use of these bad words aren't in a way that degrades other people or anything that should be considered unacceptable for your 13 year old. When I started listening to My chemical romance I was 14 and absolutely in love with them, and still am. There isn't any nudity/sex in their performance... Their recent album that they probably will perform has no sex involved, it's more about the Patient's life, not so much about sex at all. I think you should take her to the concert, it's something she will never forget because My Chemical Romance is amazing. Also, if she's already a big fan, first off High Five Girl You Rock, and second, take her, she only lives once right? I heart My Chemical Romance.

Its alternative/rock, thats good stuff.
I've watched tons of My Chemical Romance concerts on the internet, and they only bad things that ever happen is the use of profanity. So, if Mom is okay with the F word in steady use between songs and the middle fingure salute, then your golden.
MCR concerts are really a group event, of devoted, fun people. Its not like rap. No sex/nudity, hookers, crp like that. A Fall Out Boy concert is more violent then an MCR concert. And thats saying something.

I think it should be alright for you to go to a MCR concert if you truly like their music so much. Just show that to your dad, how much you really like MCR. If he's going to the concert too, why not turn him into a fan? Tell him all those things you like about MCR and stuff, make him listen to their music, etc. Maybe he'll turn around in time. But it's more important for your dad to go together with you- at least safety concerns will be ruled out.

I would definitely let her go if I were you, I've never actually been to a concert of theirs, but I've seen videos of them, and even when I'm not watching it in person, I think they're absolutely amazing live. Sure, Gerard does swear in between songs, and there's some swearing in the songs, but it's nothing like the stuff you hear in most mainstream artists' music today. They're not the kind of band that would have nudity or sex in their shows either, they know that they don't have to put all that crap in their shows to be a great band... Lots of people (like myself, sadly) haven't gotten the oppurtunity to go to a My Chemical Romance concert, and the oppurtunity doesn't come often, since they're such a popular band. And if you do let her go, you better hurry and get the tickets, it'll probably sell out pretty fast.

I beg to differ from all these guys. Dont get me wrong....everyone has a title to their opinion. And i'm not here to make anyone mad or anything. To be honest My Chemical Romances fan base is from ages 11 to 25. The group does have a big impact in the world talking about dark topics. There is no sex, nudity or anything vile. Yet, there is some swearing. I do not see a problem as long as she is safe at the concert and taken and watched over by you. It is up to you though. I am just here to give you my honest opinion. By the way....you cant go off the fact that some people dont like the music....its all about what she likes...what makes her happy.

I truely believe there is nothing wrong with a My Chemical Romance concert that will damage a child or teenager any more then general TV does these days. If she enjoys it, and you want to take her, I say go for it. The worst they do that I know of is swear, and sometimes Gerard (the lead singer) gets a little...involved in the concert by way of body motions, but really...NOTHING TV doesn't already show.

Well, I'm 14 and I'm going to their concert next month. I think the group has a few profane lyrics, but will be totally fine. They really are not bad. Not as bad as some of the other groups out there. This group s kind of geared towards teens anyway. I think it'll be fine for a 13 year old. As for your added details, that's great! Depending on which show you go to, you will not be the oldest person there. My mom's 46, she won't let me go to Detroit without her, so she has to come. Anyway, she hates profane anything, so I haven't quite told her yet. Yikes! Well, that's great that you can go, hope you enjoy the show! Have you bought tickets yet?

im 12. i have the CD but havent been to an MCR concert yet. i dont there would be any crazy stuff like that because none of the songs are like that. the concert is based off the songs. i dont think they will be worse then Panic! At The Disco. (ive been to Panic! At The Disco and there was some sex refrences) so i think it would be ok. if you want to check for yourself try youtube and look for recent video.

Personally, MCR is probably one of the last bands on your list that you have to worry about. This is a pretty clean band that everyone can enjoy now-a-days, so the answer to your question is yes and because the band likes to be okayed by everyone in the family, including parents, cause if the parents like them, then the kids are allowed to see them and buy the albums.
