If Youtube kept tract of all the things uploaded on its site and deleted all the anime episodes of numerous shows, would you be pissed and give them the finger or sit back and not give a rat's *** while you watch clips of Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch over and over again?

Since Google bought Youtube, I think it may happen. Time to get recording. Heh heh heh...

Actually, I'd be jumping up and down on my couch in excitement if YouTube deleted all the anime episodes. I'd video tape that and then my head would hit the ceiling fan - an immediate greatness.

But anyways, YouTube needs to delete all North American licensed anime series and if requested from Japan, delete other animes that haven't been licensed here, so yeah. North American licensors and Japanese government/companies are fighting Youtube to get them removed. Slowly, they are being eradicated, but I'm sure they'll take control of the situation. If not, YouTube will merely be considered a criminal activity website, Google doesn't want that, I'm sure. Just like this is a safe haven for criminal activity(scanlations, fansubs, illegal issues).

It costs money for North American companies to bring series to our shores. They rely on us, the fans, to buy dvds and manga. Why? So they can license another anime series we might want.

Trust me, the end of anime on YouTube is growing near. After that, they'll crack down on fansubbing and scanlations. Bootleggers are also being targeted by companies and Japan.

Support the anime industry, buy dvds and manga. Only then will other anime fans recognize you as a true fan.

The only reason Youtube would do that is if they want to upset people.

Really, if they really care about 'copyrights', they would have delete the offending files, before or after they were bought by Google.

If people do things to make you upset, will you entertain them by being upset?

As for fining ALL the people who uploaded copyrighted.materials without permission.

The lawyer, court, and miscellaneous cost probably would be more expensive than the fine collected.

But it's no doubt that they gonna make some 'examples'.

And probably even a pretend execution, ala Saddam Hussein.

As for Google buying Youtube.

It was done for an excuse to give money to Youtube, since it will look strange if Youtube kept on functioning without getting any money.

As for lawsuit.

An excuse to to do some spring cleaning.

More like 'need more disk space' rather than 'I don't want to lose things due a lawsuit'.

As for Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch.

Hey, if it's allowed, it's allowed.

Now you know why TV shows are called 'programs'.

I agree with themp3000. The people who create anime and manga enjoy having those jobs. The sales of dvd and manga help pay their salaries so that they can continue working.

All these people looking for anime for free are just ruining the system.

If you spent several years of your life creating an anime, would you like it if everyone ripped you off and tried to watch it for free???

I do hope the people with the copyrights crack down on all the bootleg and pirated video out there.

I enjoy my anime. By paying for it, I help pay the salaries of the people who create it.

To put it simply, if there was no money to be made on anime, it would not get made. You view and purchase pirated anime, there will soon NO LONGER BE ANY ANIME!

Oh wow, that idea would piss me off so much. People have been ripping off copyrighted stuff for decades now; there would probably be rioting in the streets and protests every other day until Google would change the rules. (of course during this time, people couldn't watch TV/movie anime episodes. ~_~' )

Unfortunately. They say it is illegal to use unowned material. I think they are leaving the AMVs up. Anyway, if you would like to watch the anime videos, try veoh. Currently, they are not deleting anything. I was able to find almost every episode of the shows that I watch.

i don't think they'd do that, dude. i mean, lots of people are watching anime in their site, and they know that we'd really get pissed and their site would probably go down for that reason. so don't worry!
