We know today there is too much crude in the market," Chavez said. "We have agreed to join our forces within OPEC ... to support a production cut and save the price of oil."

OPEC reduced output by 1.2 million barrels a day in November, then announced an additional cut of 500,000 barrels a day, due to begin on Feb. 1. Dow Jones Newswires reported Friday that OPEC is discussing holding an emergency meeting later this month to reduce output by another 500,000 barrels a day. Venezuela and Iran have been leading price hawks within OPEC.

dstr...no where did I state that we should attack anyone. You are trying to read into a question something that was not asked. I asked if it was a national security issue. Never did I state it was. So take your Anti-American @ss to the next question.

No matter how the media spreads peanut butter and jelly on it, When an OPEC country cuts back production, they cut back sales, a direct proportion. They are not our problem, Why is the Alyeska (Alaska) pipeline flowing at only 30 % capacity today when in 1980 it was flowing at 95%, even though the number of producing wells on the north slope has doubled in 20 years?? We are being screwed by our own oil companies.... Through Demo and Repub administrations...

if you haven't noticed, oil prices have been dropping, but in most places in this country, the price of gas isn't dropping with it.
you say you paid $1.89?? where?? I haven't seen gas for under $2.15 anywhere in three states of illinois missouri, and arkansas. $2.11 being the news that they found a 3 year supply in texas, which caused a temporary(not 3 year) price decline.

we are getting screwed, not by the oil companies, but by thew refiners, who bought up the smaller fefineries and shut them down, so they could drive their profit margin up.
its simple supply and demand. if you cut supply profit goes up, if there is no incentive to boost supply....why do it?

while they ae doing this, they are attempting to blame te problem on environmentalists, and EPA laws, so they can cause the un-educated to view them as enemies. once they achive this, they can go back to dumping toxins straight into our rivers without it costing profit loss.

So what?
OPEC requires a majority vote, do you want to attack any country that is sick of our Country's current regime and the lack of Foreign Diplomacy skills?

no. it is normal to increase and decrease production, due to demand. the media is trying to make a big deal out of nothing.
