That is the way society works. Have you ever studied economics? People don't do things for the benefit of other people. Even if it does appear to benefit someone else, they still receive some type of award or benefit (causing them to be selfish) - it may just be a feeling but it still counts. I don't help the homeless because it helps them for the day. I help them because then I feel good about me. Just an example to show how everything we do is based on rational thinking. It always benefits our self in one way or another. Dr Phil says that we do what works for us.
