What a boneheaded question! Of course the better franchise now and for the past 4 years is San Diego. Croakland has been lucky enough to win three rings, but have not had more than 5 wins in the last 4 years. In the same time the Bolts have had only one below .500 and the rest were 9 wins or more.
You are obviously a Faider fan, and I have to admire someone that sticks with losers that long.

Well if you're talking all-time, yes the Raiders have a better franchise history. But right now, the Raiders barely resemble an NFL team while the Chargers are two games away from the Super Bowl. At the moment, I don't think you're in a position to be talking trash about anyone except MAYBE the Detroit Lions.

While the Chargers did have a much better season than the Raiders, the Cardinals have had some good seasons in there as well, and they are hardly a decent franchise. Lets do the math:
Super Bowl Appearances:
Raiders - 5
Chargers - 1
Super Bowl Wins:
Raiders - 3
Chargers - 0
Record between the teams:
Raiders - 54 wins
Chargers - 38 wins
Hall of Famers:
Raiders - 18
Chargers - 10

Well, it all depends what you are asking. Are you talking currently or over time. If you are looking over time, you can argue the Raiders. However currently the Chargers appear to be the best football team in the NFL (though I believe the Pats are going to beat them). The Eli Manning deal was a work of genius and set up the Chargers with Rivers and LT. Looking at the current state of the Raiders, it could be years, before they are competitive again. If I was free agent in the NFL, I would want to sign with the Chargers... and consider it a curse if I ended up with the Raiders.
