Will my Argentine cell phone (w/sim card, motorola) work in Spain?

Question

I have a motorola cell phone I bought in Buenos Aires, & now I am moving to Barcelona.
Will the phone (with a prepaid phone card, or a month to month plan), work in Spain?
Are the frequencies the same?
Do you need to know more about this particular phone, in order to answer my question (let me know!)
Thank you in advance. I head to Spain in about 1 week, & I need to know whether to buy a new phone when I arrive, or if I can use this one from South America, in Europe.

you need to make sure that your phone is a world phone. this means it will support any of the major gsm networks like 1800/900 etc. second you will need to get a sim card for that particular country.
