like put it as an extra curricular activity

Almost assuredly, no.

If you're a Level 7 Answerer, maybe (your profile shows that you're a Level 1 right now). I wouldn't dwell on it too much, even then.

No admissions office is going to view this as a very educational or worthwhile pastime (even if it is, that's just how things go). Most are going to think it's some sort of MySpace or Facebook thing and they are going to wonder why you didn't do something more productive with your time.

Still, Yahoo! Answers is a fun hobby and, for me, a bit of a stress reliever. And while it won't be in time for you, by giving thoughtful and appropriate answers to questions, you can make Yahoo! Answers more legitimate and accepted.

BTW, Welcome to Yahoo! Answers.

I can't tell if this question was asked in jest or seriously, therefore I will give my answer acording to both.

I don't think they will consider it a good thing as an extra curricular activity even if you do it non for profit and are helping other people out as a comunity service. But damn I would love to see the faces of deans in ivy league universities reading that resume.

hmmmm ya i'm thinkin it's definitely not the brightest idea you've ever had. sitting in front of a computer answering a few random questions becuase you probably have nothing better to do isn't really going to impress any University...that is if it has any merit. But I guess since I dont want to come off as a total jerk I will merit you for asking a question that is most defnitely thinking out of the box lol

No. They wouldn't consider that a legitimate extra-curricular activity. It would most likely hurt you.

I doubt it. The admissions office might wonder what you could have been doing with your time rather than spending it here. Could you have been working on homework or volunteering, or doing some other extracurricular activity? Try to look at it from their point of view: would they want a student who gets out there and gets involved on campus, or stays in his or her room wasting time on Yahoo! answers?
