Playing in an old civil war train tunnel that had a creek running through and across the cobblestone floor (on hot summer days that place was magic!) the creek flowed out and made a 30' pool with a small sand beach....It was my greatest child hood discovery and the reason for many summer punishments!

So much but one thing I loved to do was listen to records. I'd sit in the living room with piles of them around me and listen to Tony Orlando and Dawn, the Beatles, Cheech and Chong, Anne Murray, and lots of classical music. My favorites were my Electric Company record, Switched-On Bach and Disco Duck. Sometimes I'd turn off all the lights, get a flash light and put mirror on the floor and dance on it (??) It was the early 80s and I was only about 6 years old but all our records were from the 60s and 70s.

In the summer me and my sister would have to work outside with our dad, yard work. I hated it! The sun would start to go down, we would sit on the front porch, all dirty and tired, and we would watch the sun go down and our Dad would praise us on our work, teach us about nature, scare me with bugs and tell us stories from when he was a kid. We would ask all kinds of questions to postpone bath time and getting our hair rolled in pink curlers so that we looked good for church on Sunday.
By the way ..... now I love doing yard work!

When I was a boy I would get up early to watch my Mom make tortillas. She would always make several and then ask me if I wanted a hand tortilla.
I would place my hand on the uncooked tortilla and she would cut out the shape of my hand, and then cook it for me.
It is one of my fondest childhood memories.

Sleeping out on the haystack every summer and watching shooting stars, and then waking up with the dawn all cold and dewy. Mmm.
When the river flooded one year and we could kayak in our own backyard
