It basically means - are you too stupid to say no? Some kids do some stupid things for kicks, peer pressure and whatever. God knows I did. They are drawing a parallel between this leeching thing and drugs. At least that's what I got out of it.

Haha...I like the commercial. I think it's tackling the fact that kids claim they do drugs because it's what other people are doing so in the commercial they show "everyone" putting leaches in their mouth to represent how stupid it could be to do things because others are doing it. Commercials won’t make people stop but it was a cool/funny attempt.

I saw that commercial too. Cracks me up.....no pun intended.
It was better when Nancy Reagan back in the 80s kept it simple and started the "Just Say No" campaign......short and to the point.

they are just showing that doing drugs is as stupid as putting leaches on yourself. It is an analogy--kids in high school don't really do it. i think they're funny!

lol, I know what you mean, I just saw that the other night as was like........uhhh....what?

I guess what they are saying is that it is dumb to put leeches on you even if everyone else is doing it. However, in other countries that is a normal thing that they do, its actually good for you.

Im more keen to the "jump off the bridge" senario.

It is a extreme example of "following the crowd" - meaning that peer pressure is so strong that if the trend is incredibly stupid, people will still do it. I think it is rather clever.

They're trying to say that using drugs is stupid, just like teens putting leeches on themselves because their friends did would be stupid too.
