I believe the Yanks are going all the way this year. They've got both the offense and defense.

Major league baseball is made up of 2 leagues, The American League, of which the Yankees are part of, and the National League. The best team from each league play in the World Series. The Yankees have won 39 league championships, which means they have gone to the World Series 39 times.
They have won 26 World Series, out of those 39 times. Now to put that in even better perspective, The 1st World Series was held in 1903. There were 2 years, 1904 and 1994, when there was no World Series. Thus, there have been 102 World Series. Those 39 League Championships, and trips to the World Series, and 26 World Series Championships have all occurred in 102 years. That is AWESOME, I don't care who you are.

The Yankees is the team of MANY of the "Greats" of the game: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DeMaggio, Whitey Ford, Phil Rizzutto, and Mickey Mantle, just to name a few. To learn more about the team, its players, and history, I STRONGLY encourage you to check out their web site: http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com

The Yankees have brought back Andy Pettite, and signed free agent Kei Igawa. They also signed Doug Mentkiwicz. They traded Gary Sheffield to the Detroit Tigers for three pitching prospects. They traded Randy Johnson back to the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitching prospects. They traded Jaret Wright to the Baltimore Orioles for pitching prospects. Bernie Williams unfortunately may not come back as a Yankee next year. He has been with the team since 1991. The Yankees are also trying to bring back Roger Clemens. The Yankees have won 26 World Series Championships.

They're gonna spend alot of money, still not realizing that having all those big-named, ego-fueled players on the same team means you're gonna win. Then they'll ***** when they get knocked out of the playoffs, but keep throwing the fact that they have Derek Jeter in people's faces like anyone cares when their team is still in the playoffs. Yeah you're team has won 26 Titles. How many of them were when you were alive? Quit living five years ago.

I think they made some improvements from last year. they got rid of a lot of the dead wood that was not producing. Randy Johnson, Jarret Wright. With the lineup they have they will definatly be in contention. Well have to see if the pitching will hold up to make them go all the way.
