WOW! Your mom works 70+ hours a week? Oh goodness, she is totally over-working herself, hun! Perhaps she can lighten her work hours down to 40-50 hours per week instead of 70 hours per week.
As for her fingers being cold, she probably has bad circulation in those fingers, and they DO need to be checked out by the doctor when she goes in for her visit.
As for her being a bit overweight and having high blood pressure. A good balanced diet of lean meats, fruits, veggies, whole wheats/whole grains/brown rice/wild rice, low fat dairy and lots of water should help her.
If she drinks soda, she needs to cut back. if she eats fast food, she needs to cut back. She also should maybe cut back on salty foods if she eats a lot of salty foods or junk foods.
Make her start taking a healthy lunch to work instead of eating out of the vending machine. And drinking a bottle of water or tea instead of drinking soda or coffee.
As for her exercising..I bet she is WAYY too tired to exercise after she gets off from work. i can totally understand that! If I worked 70 hours a week, I would not wanna come home and *sweat to the oldies*. So if she don't wanna go for a walk or pop in a work out tape, then that is understandable.
Tell your mom I said good luck and GET WELL SOON!!!

I think it is good your mother is going to the doctor for a check up. At her age there are a lot of problems associated with being overweight. Of course you don't say how tall she is. 180 is okay if she is large boned and is about 6' tall. If she is only 5' then she has a problem. Being overweight stresses your heart and causes other health problems. Working 7 days, 10 hrs a day can't be helping either. She may be headed for a stroke, or heart attack, diabetes, or other problems. Take care of your mother and learn a lesson, watch your own weight now and avoid weight problems, and weight related problems, in the future. You do not say what kind of work your mother does. That could also be a problem if her job is stressful. Good luck to you both.

only one type of heart murmor can critically effect your mothers health. most heart murmors do not hold any effect on anyone. my mom also has high blood pressure, which can be caused by stress and the amount of salt consumed. if this was a really serious case, then i'm sure your mother would be in the hospital. so just sit back for 2 weeks and don't worry. i hope she gets better. good luck.

I'm glad you are very concerned about her. It sounds like she is stressing her body too much - - - working that many hours in itself would cause high blood pressure. And if she is working 10 hours a day, she probably is too tired to exercise when she gets off.
My advice is to help her around the house as much as possible, so she won't be stressed out even more at home, feeling overwhelmed at there's so much to do. See if she can just do a short walk to begin with or buy her the Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD - - - the 1-mile walk is only about 15-20 minutes, walking in place in front of the TV. It's easy and you can do it with her to encourage her. Offer to help with dinner and learn to make healthier meals so she can lose some weight.
Also, she needs to be taking vitamins too. Tell her to ask her doctor about which ones to take.

Hi there, if losing some pounds of any description is what you want then I used a great website and coach who helped me. They were very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so fairly easily. The website is www.myhealthabc.com once you fill in your details then you can see the full range of products they have. You will need their help though as there is so much to choose from. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight, its all nutrition based.
I lost all my weight in less than three months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them, the tips you get and encouragement are excellent (their advice and time is FREE). I am still with them so I stay healthy. If you just want to buy the products and not use the coaching then you can do that aswell, there is a link in there to email them so you can tell them you just want to buy and not speak to anyone. The owners will even advise you via email on what to purchase depending on what you want to lose, my sister did it this way (she was more self conscious than me) and lost 76 pounds in less than five months. These guys are just great, try them. Your mom will lose weight and start to feel great, she'll even save money on food by using their products. Good luck

High blood pressure can be difficult to control by using drugs. Some drugs may respond, but usually people have to switch their medications in an attempt to bring it down. It sounds as though she is burning the candle at both ends. Tell her about mangosteen juice after doing your research. It is all natural and alot of people are finding that it works wonderfully. Below is a site for you to do your research and to investigate it more. Good luck to you and what a caring child you are to your mother.

You must consult a physician for your mom. These are ailments that do come during the aging process. Weight reduction always helps. In fact you can try some home remedies which I found very useful for my grand parents from this website - http://ailments.in/hypertension.html

you mother needs to start a health routine, basically a lifestyle change in the healthy direction.
She needs to start eating better, exercising, stretching, taking vitamins, seeking help(naturally) for depression. It is never to late to turn someone around.
exercise and diet can tremendously help with high BP. If it is early enough, she can be off medication in no time.

Losing weight and exercising is critical, so maybe you can join her in a daily walk, then turn it slowly into a serious workout. Tell her you want company.
