I'm a vocalist, and I recommend you some things :

- warm your throat : there are different techniques, consult a professor

- DON'T drink alcohol, or very cold beverages. Drink hot drinks like tea or coffee, only if you wish to.

- to avoid being nervous : when in stage, try closing your eyes and concentrate in your song as if you were the only person there.

- don't worry about the public, set all of your energy in what you're doing at that moment. Forget the public in the meantime you're singing, and if you do the things alright the public will not forget you! The public doesn't care if you're kind with them, the public is waiting for your SHOW!

- when you're in stage, remember that you're playing all of your cards, that is, the challenge is THE SAME if you're nervous, or not. So, be calm, and it will be better for you.

I wish you a very nice (and calm) performance!!!

Pablo.

Since you're going on stage you have most of the challenges conquered already. even the best and most expierenced performers have those little butterflies hanging around.
It will go away when you get into your performance and see the people moving with your stuff. If you haven't already go to a place where they have karaoke, it will help.

Just practice in front of friends or family, but not Simon Cowell.

have you seen the jennifer lopez movie (i don't remember the name) where the speaker has paper clips in his pocket and he holds them in his hands during his speech so he can put all his nervousness into them. i know sounds weird. but it might help.
