Maybe we can hang a sign near the motto which reads:

"Okay, that's enough. Really! Enough! We've already taken as many tired, poor, huddled masses as we can handle. Too many, in fact. We can't handle them all! No more, please!"

You've actually hit upon a nice piece of French humor. When they originially gave us that statue, they were poking fun at us, saying the we were taking the refuse from Europe (but since now we're the most powerful nation on Earth and they make nice wine, i think we win)

How would one go about amending copper? Just out of curiosity.....

Though, I do agree with you, somewhat, I have no problem if the people that immigrate to the US do so legally and abide by our rules, but if they're illegal, that's when I start having a problem.

What would Jesus do? Would He say "o.k. that's enough huddled masses". God blesses those who give and do the right thing. Bush broke our streak. Sure we did some bad things but not like the things Bush and the Republicans do. I fear the Republicans much more than the huddled masses.

if you want a ammendment you have to go through the whole process, of how a bill becomes a law, then once the senate approves of it, then the president can either sign it or veto it.
