I agree women need to empower themselves. Instilling self confidence, education and a strong moral platform will help to enable our little girls to empower themselves as women.

What does birth control have to do with empowerment (are we talking preventive or "curative")?

We need not shout out slogans like "Girl Power" right and left, promote Women's Apparel and Accessories over masculine fashion, keep the woman-on-top positions during sex, or propose an ala- Adolf Hitler "Total Solution" for the extinction of the male sex in order to empower women. We simply can empower women through nothing else but RESPECT.

Women are empowered if they are respected in terms of their rights. They are not to be looked down upon as mere objects of pleasure or as trophies to be won in the competition of a man-eat-man world. Like men, women are also human and should be treated as such. Whatever rights men have, women should also have. Women are not to be feared for their God-given biological gift of being able to give birth, they should be loved and honored. Men may take the stand of being providers of the family, stating that they are naturally built as stronger beings; however, during these modern times, women show that they are as able as men are. They can be just as smart, just as strong, and just as capable of what men can do.

So by simply showing respect to women, the female race is empowered. It is good to love women, but if in the case of having female enemies, it is alright to dislike them BUT still respect them. Respect and be respected. That is what true empowerment is about.

Get rid of marriage. When women have men to fall back onto in life or at the workplace, they will. If we get rid of marriage ALL women will have to eithier sink or swim some might sink but Iam sure a lot more women will develop their full potential when they cant rely on a man that takes care of things.

I wish we could teach the young ones they don't have to have a man and the most important day in their life is not their wedding day. I wish we could let the married ones know it is alright if you have made a mistake and married a looser or abuser get out you deserve better. And I want to ask the mothers not to bring more children into the world than you can parent because if your don't give them a good start in life no one else will.

I think in order to empower women, we can offer women the ongoing support that they need to conquer what has to do with healing them of what life has given them. I think that women should be allowed to do unlimited possibilities.

It takes them making the first step.

In the U.S. women let the ERA go down to defeat, largely because they didn't want to get into the draft pool.

All it took was the concept of WAR to scare them off.

As long as you fear something you lose. You make yourself subservant. You put the man above you as your protector and do your best to stay out of risk and danger.

Risk and danger is what empowerment is all about.

Do as I do!

Let them do what ever they want - it gives me more time to do what I want.

We meet at the breakfast table in the morning and talk about what we've done and what we have planned.

By the way - woman are very good at keeping bills paid and the like - so she does that too.

I mow the lawn (sometimes)

I am a very powerful womyn. I am a member of Dykes on Bikes and I enjoy playing softball, especially if there are trophies and a keg of beer to tap after the game. I am comfortable with who I am, and therefore, powerful.
