The menstrual cycle is the series of changes a woman's body goes through to prepare for a possible pregnancy. About once a month, the uterus grows a new, thickened lining (endometrium) so that it is ready to receive a fertilized egg. When there is no fertilized egg to start a pregnancy, the uterus then sheds its lining. This is the monthly menstrual bleeding (also called menstrual period) that women have from their early teen years until menopause, around age 50.

Yes, most women have monthly periods from puberty (pre-teens or teens) through menopause (50 or so). The timing's different among women, so the range of "normal" is really wide. Women who have normal monthly periods in their teens probably will have normal monthly periods in their twentys and beyond.

Yes. I am 27 and I still have a period every 28 days! This happens to ALL ladies, until menopause, then we stop having periods and start having hot flashes!

Yeah . . . . 20's, 30's, 40's and even 50's. Most of the time, the only time you get to skip is when you are pregnant. And then you get a nice 9-month break.

Women should have monthly periods until they go through menopause unless they have a medical reason preventing it.

Definitely yes. How else could they have children with the machinery not working? :)

Women have periods until around 56 when they hit menopause.

girls still have their monthly until they reach the stage of life called "menopause" thats when several things goes. your period, ability to have chiildren. some of the symptons are different in each woman.
i just had heat flashes, ( this part my husband does not know) when he would be talking to me, inside of me would be screaming for him to just shut up.
this stage usually happens in mid 40's to 50's.
