you put this side up face down while popping microwave popcorn?

First, the wrong side will explode down into your microwave bottom. It will do it with such force, that it will create a microwavic reaction which is comparable to a small nuclear blast. This would certainly destroy your house, and quite possibly the whole block on which you live.
The greater threat, then, is that this explosion would set off the other microwaves in your neighborhood. These microwaves would all begin to explode, creating the effect of a number of small nuclear blasts. At this point, your whole town could be on fire, dogs would be barking, car alarms would be going off, and there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
But it gets worse. At this point, the government might decide that we have been attacked, and retaliate with a nuclear strike against another nation. We end up firing nuclear weapons at an innocent nation, killing many people. In addition, they might fire back at us, and end up destroying much of North America.
That would all be bad. But even worse than that is the fact that all of this nuclear activity might set off enough radiation to help the Cylons discover where Earth is located, and then they would come and destroy any remaining civilization on this planet.
So please, please do not microwave your popcorn upside down. For the love of God, please.

I don't know, good question! Never tried it, and I think I may be too obsessive compulsive to ever try it..... But ya never know.
