Wow, I didn't know anyone else actually does that.
Yes, I've read too many books with bad or dud endings. If it's a book I really enjoyed, and I see it's going bad toward the end, I just put it down and start another book.
You know, until you mentioned this, I didn't really acknowledge that I do this. Interesting. Thanks.

No. For better or for worse I take what the author has written. It's their creation. If I really disagree with the ending I might think about alternate endings and talk with other people who read the book to see if they had the same thoughts as I did.

I cant not finish a book. Before I read it though, I like to go to the last page to see how it ends, and then I start to read it, like motivation for me to read it in the first place.

i've wanted to, but i always finish it.
there've been countess books where i grew to love the characters and when the end comes around i know that only bad can come of it all. I want these people to live happily but i read on, just to know, just to feel more for the characters who can't get a happy ending.

No. I always read to the end, even if the ending is a bit of a disappointment.
And I will always watch a movie to the end, even though I know the ending will be crap.

not realy but reading the end just spoils the whole thang-i like to get into a book as i read & be part of it-sometimes dont like the ending than again wish it would never end most all books have their ups & downs

No, because usually the ending is better than what you make up. But you should become a writer, if you want to make the ending so badly

no, but when the plot starts to go downhill, I feel an odd churning in my stomach, like gastric, cos I just couldn't bear the thought of my favorite character getting killed or beaten up.

If the case is similar to yours...hmmm..I think I would still read it up to the end...however, that doesn't mean that I can't think of my own ending.... crappy endings always challenge me to write better stories...
