What's the point of people paying for a bunch of channels that you're never going to watch? It's very wasteful. For example, I wish there was some way of keeping The Food Channel, BET Jazz, CMT, Nickelodeon, Turner Classic Movies, ESPN, Travel Channel and History Channel but getting rid of sleazy crap like MTV and BET. I know I don't watch it but my little sister watches that junk and I really don't want that in my house. Not that I'm a parent or anything but brainless smut still annoys me.

you can lock out those channels with a password. call your cable company about the method of using the lock. it is pretty simple...sometimes it is called "parental control". it works in my house!

If there is a cable service that lets one choose I would subscribe in a minute. None of my family are interested in sports or porn, for instance. As it is, I do not have a cable service at all because the price is too high for the product received. My family servives techno hell by watching five local channels and DVD's.
