Uh, have you talked to anyone in Denver, where they're having record snow and cold? (Perhaps you haven't, because of power outages.)

It is not a warm winter. It's simply that the cold we usually get is being enjoyed by others this month.

Same here.

It's not necessarily global warming as others have stated. There are many things that can effect weather patterns. Look up "The Year Without Summer" where there was nearly a foot of snow in Quebec in early June, ice on lakes and rivers as far south as Pennsylvania in July and August.

That's just one example of something that can effect weather patterns world wide.

Canada capital Ottawa is having a record warm January in decades. Almost lawn mowing time!
This is the city normally with feet of snow on the ground in January and temperatures between -10 degree C to -25C deg C.

Not in Southeast Kansas, its in the teens right now with snow and ice on the ground. Of course, up until a couple of days ago it had been in the 40's and 50's since the first of the year.
