I am an African American male and even so I haven't had a big nose until now. I'm 14. And suddenly people tell me all the time that my nose is big and i'm like what!! I constantly look in the mirror though I try not to so i don't upset myself about what I look like. Some people even say things like, "Has your nose gotten bigger?" And I'm like ****!! I'm also repeatedly told that I have a small face which is also true. I also have small eyes and full lips. People tell me I should even model sometimes and I think to myself, "Yea, but big noses don't photograph pretty, you ass" Neither of my parents have big noses. So I don't understand. Is the development of my face not complete? I hope it gets normal because I can't appreciate myself like this. I realize people stare at me a lot. Mostly guys... don't ask. But I think it may be because of my nose. I don't even have confidence to talk to people so I am extremely quiet in school. I also have no friends at school. It sucks. Help please...

You are only a child
you have heaps of growing to do
just act like you are happy
don't let others see you are upset or worried
because you may get teased more
be friendly to your peers & you should get some friends
join some sports you like
study well at school
& when you grow up & get a good job
if your nose still worries you you can get it fixed up
but at this stage don't worry i'm sure you are handsome
talk to your Mum & tell her how it worries you

Aww, Juwan, I hate to see you feeling like that! Keep in mind that we are *always* our worst critics! I seriously doubt that anybody is thinking anything about your nose. As for the comments, could they know that it bugs you and are just trying to get to you?

Also, I would like to add that sometimes it is those "less than perfect" features that make us so wonderfully unique and special. I, too, don't have the best nose of the planet, in terms of social definitions, but I wouldn't trade it for a Hollywood fake one anytime. So hang in there, don't spend too much time obsessing over your nose. Get more involved in a hobby, build your mind or your body, and enjoy life while you are young!

Your 14, this happens to all of us. It's called puberty!!! You are growing and you will experience changes in your appearance. Its nothing to worry about. Don't be hard on yourself. Try to join a club at school to get more interaction with your peers. You will find out that they feel the exact same way about themselves as you do.

dude, don't worry about it... you shouldn't beat yourself up over this.

Don't let this destroy your confidence over talking to people or having friends. Trust me, everyone is self conscience about something.

If you're a cool person, people will like you for that, not the size of your nose.

give it a try, you'll never know till you try.
