I have the same situation.
I would suggest:

*Get in a workout (aerobic is best, something which makes you sweat) about 2-3 hours before you plan to go to sleep.

*Prepare/order out a good meal (remember to eat fresh vegetables with it).

*Get your things ready for the following morning (i.e., clothes, wallet/purse, keys, lunch, you get the idea).

*Take a nice, long shower/bath.

*Eat that yummy meal!

*Zone out on some nice music and a cool book.

You'll be asleep before the light bulb in your lamp cools off. (;=]

I hope this helps.

Funny, how I used to have exactly the same problem like you a few weeks ago =[. If you really wanted to get to sleep faster, and if you have time, exercise for 30 minutes to 1 hour each day. And before you sleep, do some light reading. That way your not so tense when you go to bed. Also, try not to get too stressed out while studying or in work. Take it easy, and relax

In tinnitus, the sounds a person hears are actually perceptions. Since there's no actual source, they are often referred to as "phantom noises". I read that about 8% of all people in the US suffer from tinnitus so you are not the only one who hears these strange noises.

Tinnitus is actually not a disease. It is actually a symptom of a problem that is rooted deep, somewhere within your body. The problem could be a simple one like an infection in the ear, or even simpler, such as ear wax. Just clear the wax and get the infection treated, and the noises could go away. In some people, it could even be the result of a side-effect of a drug they took. Or it could be more complicated.

If you want to know more about this condition and wnat to learn how to solve naturally your problems with these annoying noises you should read this ebook: http://tinnitus.toptips.org

It helped me a lot.

Absolutly. One thing I would suggest is to take a bath (preferably with bubbles) before getting in bed. There are products such as Aromatherapy that will aid you in sleeping better.
I'm not a huge fan of sleeping pills but those are available as well.

Do yourself a favor...when you get into bed make a conscious effort to think of NOTHING. Thats right....I said it...NOTHING. If you can't blank things out think of happy thoughts (disneyland, kittens, boyfriend/girlfriend, favorite band, etc, etc) and your body will soon relax. Maybe try counting those crazy sheep.

Have a cup of chamomile tea just before you go to bed, you'll be out like a light. I use it all the time. Besides the chamomile helping you sleep, just by having a cup of tea at the end of the day, warming you up inside... very relaxing.

ok well i do that ALL the time to .... but then i say a show and they counted down from hundred ! dont count any sheep that would just get you confused ..... and also if you dont pay attention when your counting or just dont fall asleep with that then i like to just listen to myself briething { srry i couldnt spell that} and just calm down. Also if it troubles you TOO much then like i have you can get a radio with sounds of soothing stuff like the ocean or birds or nighttime with the crickets....... etc.
