perhaps "peace" is a totally different concept than the english version of the word, in comparison to the arabic version.
our version of peace means an absence of war.
their version of peace mean an absence of infidel
RY RY - christians didnt exist when those verses were written, not for hundreds of years. those were Jews writing and following those verses.

I imagine the vast majority of Muslims do follow peaceful lives. Hey, after all we are spending billions of bucks to set up a government in Iraq that will be probably 100% Islamic.
But there is a maniacal, homicidal group which will take the Koran and twist it to their own interpretation. I think Islam may have a higher percentage of these folks than other religions. And I'd like to say they are poor, ignorant people but the 19 evil bastards who flew into the WTC were college educated or at least capable of that.
I don't see Islam changing to rid that religion of the nuts.

all major religions preach peace, compassion and love ,and all of them practice rape pillage and murder .always have ,especially Christianity and Islam
and this was the idea of organized religions in the first place
they all originated in Babylon and from the same council
this is the story of the tower of Babel
the different religions divided the people into smaller groups ,so that they could be more easily controlled,
they were and still are ,set against each others throats by terrorist activities and propaganda ,and a lot of money was and is made onthe resulting conflict
the principle is called DIVIDE AND RULE
and has been practiced by the leading elite(illuminati)for 6000 years

This is in answer to your last question as well as this. One billion people currently are Muslims, that's one sixth of the world population...The media portrays corrupt Islamic leaders as well as their followers who engage in acts of suicide bombings, terrorist training camps, and the al'qaeda regime. But does the media also show the millions and millions of muslims worldwide who shake their heads as they watch such events unfold on tv by so called muslims? No. Does the media also show the thousands and thousands of Mosques accross the world where Islamic leaders are continuously denouncing terrorism, esp in countries such as India, Algeria, Turkey, European counties, the millions of Muslims that current reside in the USA? The answer is no. Take a look at this website...

What's being shown on the media and what's actually taking place are two whole different worlds. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it's not there. Just because you don't see the millions and millions of muslims denouncing terrorism as they watch these events unfold on tv, doesn't mean it's not there. I've been to several Mosques out of the 1000s of mosque worldwide, every one of my muslim brothers strongly denounced terrorism.

it doesn't really matter which religion it is a few who prefer violence even when not attacked and will use others who are vulnerable to do the dirty work-this goes for all countires and faiths...then again we in the US have a histo ry of brave men and women who fought for our independance when we were a colony of England...so who are we to say who is the "good guy" and who is the "bad guy" Do we care as much about a foreign person as we do one of "our own" ? Questions to be pondered for sure.

Read your history. People forget;
that the Koran was made several hundred years after the TORAH. It is basically a COPY made by envious cousins left out of the "promise" in the Torah. But they made THEMSELVES as the chosen ones. Some say it is nothing but a RIPOFF of the Jewish Torah.
One way to make something seem legit is to somehow associate it with the truth.
So their killings are done out of their OWN HEART and does not come from commandments of G*d! If you disaggree please read the 2nd and 3rd paragraph carefully again.
Anyway, in the NT all killings are off. There is a new way of basically forgiveness and love, since the SUPREME sacrifice of G*d's son! The Koran does not seem to have this change.

Its much deeper than that. Much of the extremist views that they are socialized with is fueled by our foreign policy, our actions as a nation and our ethnocentric way of thinking. We sometimes make these extreme assertions true or make them believable by what we do. What you are saying is true to a degree, but it is a grossly oversimplified explanation. An explanation concerning economic, social contextual, spiritual and historical explanations would merely scratch the surface. Its a very complicated matter.

Yes it is a sad commentary this world is fulled by the desires of the rich and the religion of Islam which has been hijacked is no different! "what is it the green berett say"? Kill them all let god sort them out...
I wounder if they know what kind of burning hell awaits them for the deeds they do? (mans inhumanity to man) in the end they shall all be weeded out by the one true god!...

it's the whole irony of religion... they all say they preach peace, yet more have died in it's name than anything else...
history shows time and time again the shocking things that men have done in the name of religion in almost every religion...
but here is the REAL KEY:
if you can convince people that God wants you to do something... it's hard to argue with God...
so all you have to do, is turn what you want, into what people think God wants... and you can get people to move mountains...
(of course, you could condemn yourself to hades by knowingly using God to advance your own motives... but if you're using it, you probably don't really believe in it)
