I took a King sized sheet and put it on a twin bed, all I did was put the fitted part to the back of the bed and then pulled it tight and tucked the excess sheet under the matress. The top sheet for the twin, I just folded it in half and put it on. I wouldn't cut it, cause you may move and need a King-size sheet again and then you would have to buy the expensive sheets, again, and this way you could use it on the king or queen sized bed.

You can alter them to fit the queen size bed, but you are better off buying new Queen size bed sheets and keeping the King size sheets should you one day find a home with two rooms big enough to have the King Size Bed and Queen Size Bed set up.

I don't know how to sew but if you can...try and cut the king sheet in the middle, remove however much you have to ( put the corners on the bed and fold the mid section over to get a close idea of how much to remove) and sew the two remaining sides together. Do the same for the length, or just hem the top. Walla, queen sheets.

Well i have done the same thing and what i would suggest is measuring the sheets aginst the queen bed and tack it down the middle from head bord to foot board and then sew it straight down and cut off the extra or you can make it to where you tack it with the extra and if you ever want it to fit your king bed again just take out the stitching !!!
