that isn't true. I stopped growing when I was 12. I also started my period when I was 12. Your height is genetic. I'm not saying that you will stop growing right now, I am just saying it is different for everyone. Besides look at it this way, even if you do stop growing at least you made it to 5'. I'm only 4' 10". :-) I like being small though. It makes me "cute"

That's mostly true, but it's more like "a year after you start your period" that you stop growing and all the growth plates on your bones close up. I was 5' tall at 13, but grew another inch when I was 18.
Oh, and being petite isn't the worst thing in the world. It's okay to be small in stature as long as you think big and have a lot of heart.

Haha, no that is 100% not true. Yes, women do usually stop growing a little earlier then men but that is crazy. I had my period when i was 13 and didn't stop growing till my junior year in college. Of course now I'm 40 and am still growing but in all the wrong places.

I have honestly never heard of that before! I first started having my period when I was in FOURTH GRADE... and I was 4' around then. I didn't stop growing until High School... many years later. I have never heard of any correlation between bone and muscle growth and the duration or onset of your menstrual cycle. I don't think you have to worry about that.
However,,, DNA will have something to do with how tall you are going to be. If your parents are short(er) then you may be, too. But look further back... and your grandparents and their siblings... at THEIR parents. That should give you a better idea of what your chances are.
Cheers and happy sprouting.

It's not true. You'll continue to grow until you're at least 18. You have a ways to grow yet.
At 13 when I started my period I was about 5'1" tall.
At 16 I was 5'3" tall.
At 18 when I stopped growing I was 5'5" tall (still am).
My dad was 5'6" and my mom 5'5and 1/2" tall.

When you get your period (aka puberty) you undergo what is called "teenage growth spurt" which is a period of accelerated growth. You will take 3-4 inches in few months. Then, the growth slows down and stops at around 21.
As a general rule, girls who have their period sooner will finish growing sooner, thereby being shorter. If the onset of puberty is delayed, one grows taller.
That happens because sexual hormones causes growth cartilages in your bones to ossify, thereby stopping your growth.

It depends on your genetics and the overall state of your health...that definitely isn't true for everyone. My mother didn't stop growing until about 6 years after her period began.

No!
Your period its just part of puberty.
You stop growing around 18 or 21 and has nothing to do with your period. So don't stress about it.

I don't think this is true. I've been told that people can grow up to age 20.
I stopped at around 15 (my doctor confirmed and I've not gotten any taller), it's pretty much up to your body.

Given my experience as a mother you should get at least another couple of inches taller. You should be getting another growth spurt before you are 18.
I am 5 feet tall and found that lots of boys and now men like small women.
