no.

i would have to take sides with no because even if a big bang were to have happened in space at whatever time, where did the matter come from? it doesnt create itself according to the law of conservation of energy: The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can change its form. so how could stuff just come into existence?

maybe it is the fault of the highly imaginitive human mind to try and find a beginning to the universe itself. in theory it could have always been there? i have noted that whenever problems like this occur it is because there is a problem in the question and not the answer. just like we will never find an end of the earth because it is not flat.

the big bang only accounts for what happened to the universe with existing matter and not where this beginning matter came from. the complete beginning of the universe is still a mystery.

and... creationism is much better supported no matter how crazy it seems. you would need more 'faith' to be an atheist because if you heard a small bang in the other room and you asked me what it was and i said 'oh it was nothing it just made that noise all on its own' you would not believe me. a bang canot invent its own cause and appear out of nowhere. MANY if not all scientists have renounced the big bang because even they know matter cannot invent its own cause and appear out of nowhere. that is much too far from scientific and all good scientists know that.

Science has predicted events from the so called Big Bang until now. Using the framework of the Big Bang theory scientists predicted properties of the current universe that have actually been observed including the cosmic microwave background and the clumping and distribution of matter in the universe. More are predicted and experiments to verify the predictions are being worked on. The Big Bang theory very accurately describes the beginnings of our universe. Very soon we'll even understand what caused the Big Bang itself and we'll be zeroing in on complete knowledge of our universe. It is an exciting time for humanity. Creationists: why do you think God could not use the Big Bang to create the universe???? If the Bible had explained the mechanics of how God created the universe do you think the primitive peoples around when the Bible was written would have the slightest clue what was being told to them? Of course not! It had to be dumbed down so they could accept it. Another example - does the Bible say electricity exists?? No, but our whole world runs off it.

Today I'll say ' Yes" I believe in the Big Bang. We have to realize though, what was it 15 billion years ago since the big bang. Processes have been working that long, and of all of that we have been actually exploring space for about 50 years, so it is really foolish to think we will answer much in our lifetime, least of all what caused the big bang, that will be a future generation that realms in that glory. I strongly believe we should not even be forming a theory at this point, it is way to early, not enough facts are in yet. if we had maybe a few thousand years of space exploration under our perverbial belt, then maybe we could look at a few theories.
For today, the big bang works with what little we know, tomorrow who knows .....
I do think the Big Bang does a nice job of explaining what took place since the big bang, it was never meant to explain what happened before the big bang like many believe.

I find it totally insane that people can be in the space and astronomy forum and be saying they don't believe in the big bang. It's not really about belief, it's about the data, this is the science catagory, remember? What does the data lead to and do you have an alternate theory that fits the data better? This is totally ludicrous. Especially the people who said creationism. Stay on the Religion forum for that.

Yes the big bang theory but not a primordial egg.
A single space-time initiated the universe and us!

No. It's possible, but I'm not jumping on that bandwagon. It's one possible way of things. Dark energy could also explain the universe's expansion, and science refuses to explore what happened before the big bang. I'd like to see a more elegant explanation, basically.

The thought of all matter being condensed into an infinitely small point seems to be the result of bad calculation.

A primitive scientific attempt to explain Creation of the Universe
It is basically a scientific creation theory based on Einstein General relativity theory . There is no accepted beliefs in Physics only proof. Therefore there is no yes or no beliefs.
