The last few posts are very right. Make up is not necessary at all and definatly doesnt make you more beautiful. But anyway heres my opinion on the subject:
If you let a kid wear lip gloss then they will want to were blush and mascara and eye liner and then get skimpy clothes and then get their hair done. If a parent inforces rules like no lipgloss untill 13 then the rest will come soon at a more apprpriate age.

Because you will get lotsa of gross zits and wrinkles if ou wear makeup all the time when you're just a kid. (Ok lip gloss and those things I completely sympathise for you, and I would allow a kid to wear those if I was a parent, which I am not) But things like eyeliner and mascara and all that arent really necessary. You should be more concerned with getting excercise and wearing sunscreen since so many American kids are obese these days.

little kids, like elemantary school age dont need any makeup, except maybe lip gloss. I wasn't allowed any makeup except lip gloss until I was 12. Also if you wear too much make up it can ruin perfect skin and make it all greasy and if you forget to wash it off at night you get dark marks under your eyes and trust me those dark marks are hard to get off.
If you want to wear more make up simply tell your parents you want to wear more. and if they say no but you still want to wear it, borrow some from a friend and put it on at school.

go watch the movies call "thirteen" than you might understand where parents are coming from. Some girls who wear so much at a young age get into stuff and think its ok, then later on it influences others around them into bad things. Its just a worry thing that parents have with their 14 year old looking like she is 17 or 18. Come on you're not even old enough to go on a REAL date without your parents sitting in the row behind you at the movie theatre.

I agree with you on the lip gloss thing; i see it as just wearing like chap stick. But some parents see makeup as a symbol of growing up and maturity. that's why they dont let their children wear makeup. Also, it depends on what skin type you have, some skins are more prone to get pore infections, and their skin get messed up easier. You probably have really good skin, you should feel VERY fortunate. My sister has good skin (i dont), I take care of my face more than she does, and she still has better looking skin than me.

First of all makeup does NOT make you more feminine. And if you have perfect skin then you don't require makeup, your just going to mess up your face later on in life. You see... this is my point of view, k alright so people wear makeup supposedly to 'cover things up' and when you first start wearing makeup theres nothing there to cover up, but then if you wear to much you'll get like pimples zits so on, so then you have a real reason to wear makeup, and you'll start piling more and more on. Soon you'll have a hidious face lol full of blemishes, which will make you want more. Who really cares about makeup?!? Stop following what media tells you! Media is changing the standards of the word "Beautiful" WE DON'T NEED MAKEUP!! Geez, thanks to media our world has a new proportion. A horrible one too!

you see... it's not quite the make-up it's more like the attention/stigmas that go with it. you kno these days every1 in a hurry to grow up.. and let's face it, make-up wasn't designed for 10 year olds... it's for older women. So parents just feel that at a young age you shouldn't be worrying about make-up.
yea the lip gloss thing sounds stupid, but they're just trying to set boundaries for ya and not have you grow up too fast
I think young girls should be allowed to wear make-up but the amount depends on the age...

Some people might think makeup gives girls the wrong body image. It is fake and misleading. Yes, it is part of our culture. but what are we telling a little kid she needs makeup for? That she is not pretty? She needs to cover up who she is? She needs to fit a mold society creates for her? That she should not be satisfied? On one hand women whine about false image portrayed by magazines, and on the other hand emulate it anyway.
There is nothing wrong looking like a healthy girl. Why paint over it?

not a thing!! my daughter is a competitive cheerleader and does MANY competitions and shows... my friend once asked me why she has the makeup in her pics... its a part of the costume.. I dont see a thing wrong with ANY make up on a girl, just not OVER done!! my daughter is now 12 in 7th grade and does what she wants with make up... keep it from them and they want it more but since i never have cared, my daughter hardly ever wears it on a daily basis unless shes preforming!!
