A term was generated by service men during World War II to discribe just about everything.

It stands for: Situation Normal All F**ked Up.

Have I ever had a SNAFU? hmmm, not sure one can have one, but one can certainly be living in one. The war in Saddam's home country could be called a SNAFU. Your tax return audit would be a SNAFU. Any movie with Jim Carrey on the the set would be a SNAFU. A marriage with Courtney Love would qualify as would a sleepover with Micheal Jackson.

It the usual case that the person who caused the SNAFU is oblivious to that fact.
