Assuming you are talking about the filming or photographing of sex acts for pornography vs. prostitution, the legal difference is a contract stating that the participants are being paid as actors, not for the sex acts they perform.Since people generally do not photograph the sex acts they perform with prostitutes, the law assumes the payment is for the physical act itself and is therefore an illegal act.

The prostitution (except the underage element) isn't the concern with the ACORN videos. it truly is that the ACORN workers confirmed a willingness to help people in breaking the regulation. to boot to the prostitution they'd were filing fraudulent tax returns, used tax payer money to help in criminality, money laundering...and so on. so a ways because the form between prostitution and pornography i don't believe of there is any distinction, and both could for this reason be unlawful. both contain people having sex for money. So i wager per chance the amateur stuff would then be considered criminal huh? strange!

Prostitution is the act of taking money in return for sexual favors. Pornography is the purchase and/or viewing of sexually explicit material where there is actual penetration.
rita is right except that porn does not require penetration
any material attempting to arouse sexual desire is porn
penetration is just hard core porn
strippers and half naked women are soft core porn
maybe cheerleaders are soft core too
