The same way they justified themselves when they banned interracial marriages... by wearing their white sheets and burning crosses.

Simple we discriminate against many people for many different reasons. Some are for health reason per say smoking in public places or the use of illegal drugs etc. But to answer your question we must understand why marriage exist.
First, the purpose marriage is for the creation and raising of a family. Second it is used for a stable family structure. Finally, it was a means to bond two individuals together before the public who will recognize that this is a new family. This reasoning is a simple list without getting into the psychological and sociological aspects of marriage.
What the homosexuals want is the benefits that go along with a marriage. IE: tax relief, medical benefits, retirement, etc. This is not what marriage is about and causes me to question their supporters intent.

I disagree.Homosexuality is a chosen behavior, therefore not the same as a mixed race marriage.Do you honestly expect people to believe you can not choose who you sleep with ? Your race is not chosen, and cannot be altered, and that is what defines discrimination.Your sex may be changed, but a birth certificate is a historical document and therefore can not be altered under any circumstances,so sex is also a valid basis to determine discrimination/minority status.
Once you abandon the view that marriage is between one man and one woman, where do you stop?? what right would you have to tell me I can not marry a sheep,or a head of lettuce,or a 12 year old ???The homosexual lobby has such a narrow and selfish focus, they seem oblivious to the immeasurable harm which will be caused by legislating the natural order of things.

Its not really discrimination. Gay men have the same right to marry a woman as straight men. Same goes for gay women they have the same right to marry a man as straight women.
The same sex marriage bans have the same force of law against straights as gays. Two straight men cannot be married either. So there is no discrimination the law applies equally to both gays and straights.
I do think some legal recognition needs to be given to gay couples that decide to live in a committed relationship. For the purpose of insurance, inheritance and common property. However, calling it a marrage is a farce.

Why in the world would they want to call it marriage when all throughout the Bible the gay lifestyle is condemned. Since God created marriage in the first place wouldn't it be a slap in His face to condone something that He condemns? I have no objection to calling it a Domestic Partnership, but, leave God and the Bible out of it. I believe that people should be left alone with their decisions because it is between them and God but don't disgrace the sanctity of marriage. Mmm

I disagree.Marriage is what it is ,one man,one woman. It is legally recognized for the purpose of maintaining the family unit. This is a social normalcy. Two men or two women are not capable of making children and having a family. If you expand the meaning of marriage then there is no logical justification for not defining it however anyone wants.A man and his cat,two siblings, one woman with six husbands. If you think this sounds ridiculous, remember,so did "gay marriage" not so long ago.

Whether or not it is discrimination it is their opinion. Just like at one point in time it was considered correct to have segregation. Everything takes time. People X may not think it is right, but people Y think that people X are wrong... Just personal opinions.

Having been married for 25 years I say let the fools wed. Gays have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us.

or perhaps as far-fetched as it sounds, they may want to spare gays the pain of gay divorce.
