I just got a 2 month old baby rabbit and its been having diarrhea! I've searched the net and from what I've found it seems that diarrhea in baby rabbits is usually fatal and they die in 24-48 hours... If anyone knows any methods of curing this please respond ASAP. I took out the alfalfa and it did nothing. I'm very concerned. Any help would be great!

See, thats the problem. I can't take the poor thing to the vet. No vets near me accept rabbits. I live in a very small town.

I think you should take your rabbit to the vet and get a stool check done. Diarrhea is potentially fatal because of the risk of dehydration. It could be a food issue, a worm or other parasite issue, or it could be stress due to the new home.
If you are unable to get to a vet at this hour, whatever time it is where you are, you can get through the night by making sure your rabbit is drinking a lot of water and has pellets readily available. Take your rabbit to the vet ASAP.
Much luck!

Did you change the diet? Are you feeding it exactly what the breeder fed it? Does it have timothy or hay available? Does it have fresh water daily? Since it's so young, and you can't know what is causing it, you need to take the bunny to a vet. At least call a vet clinic that deal with rabbits and ask what you can do on an immediate basis.

Rabbits get stressed out very easily. If you really *just* got it, the diarrhea may simply be from the stress of being moved. If you can't get it to the vet right away, you can give him a little bit of Pedialyte - the same stuff you give to kids when they have diarrhea. He should like the apple flavor. It may help.

if u live near a rural king or pet store u need to go in and ask if they have any meds because diareah will kill any rabbit within a couple days if not hours or u can look throught the phone book for someone who knows anything about rabbits like a rabbitry but hurry because their little bodies cant take much of it.

go to the vet asap. your rabbit needs fluids injected to stay hydrated.
replace the alfalfa, make sure your rabbit has timothy hay, and plenty of other fiber food, like broccoli and collared greens.

Hi, I use rolled oats from the store.Stop pellet food and fresh veggies till its better and reintroduce these things slowly. Just water lotsof hay and oats. You should see improvements within a couple of days.

I would not experiment with anything, unless your absolutely sure it's going to work. Take it to a vet.
