He is a magician and he and his wife were a doing a show. He cut off his wife's head in the guillotine and cracked up. His daughter grew up and went to live in the house and things started happening come to find out the dad wasn't dead and was still living there and he thought she was his wife so he wanted to do the trick again because he said it works now. Something like that.

You're propbably thinking of the 1965 release, Two on a Guillotine, which actually starred Connie Stevens and Cesar Romero, as well as Dean Jones.
Take a look at the synopsis and reviews at the IMDB website and see if this is the one you're trying to remember.

YES! I have been trying to find the title of this movie for years. It did star Vincent Price and Sandra Dee. I saw it as a kid and was scared to death but never forgot it. Your description was it exactly. Thank you.

is that the one where he was doing the witch trials??? Vincent Price freaks me out! Worse than Freddy or Jason.....Just the sound of his voice gives me chills
