The constant banging of their heads causes their brains to bang against the inside of the skull. This causes cerebral aneurysms, resulting in fluid build-up between the brain and the skull. This cause a slight concussion like injury, and they get a numb skull. Sort of like a drug induced high only its free. In short, they do it cuz they're brain damaged idiots!!!
