Plug in your ipod and open itunes. Go to the screen that has your ipod information. Look for the button that says restore. This will delete everything in your ipod but not in the itunes. (This works for itunes 7) I'm not sure if this works for all itunes.

Make a playlist that includes only your songs. Plug your iPod into the computer. Select the Music tab after your iPod syncs. If the "All Songs and Playlists" selection is marked, select "Selected Playlists" instead, then check the playlist you just created and uncheck any others that you don't want. If you want, you can create various different playlists containing different mixes of your music, and select them for uploading from this same list. To keep your playlists neatly identified from the other person's, make sure the first character in all of your playlists is a "." so they'll alphabetize together in this list ("." comes before "A", so your playlists will float to the top of the list).
